The much anticipated spy thriller The Amateur will be released by 20th Century Studios in theaters on April 11, 2025. The movie is based on the 1981 novel by Robert Littell and has an ensemble cast of seasoned actors with Rami Mallek in the lead role. Directed by James Hawes and filmed in London, France, and Turkey.
The story involves a brilliant CIA cryptography decoder Charles Heller, played by Rami Mallek, whose wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. His bosses will not act on the investigation due to conflicting priorities. Heller manages to blackmail CIA officials to train him in field spycraft and given cash to pursue the terrorists on his own. Limited with his martial arts experience he uses his surveillance intelligence and high-tech expertise to hunt, find, trap, and eliminate the killers of his wife, while the CIA watches in astonishment.
