Jazz on a Summer’s Day – Film

One of the best jazz movies ever made. Jazz on a Summer’s Day is a documentary of the July, 1958 Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island. The film mixes images of the festival, the city, and the America’s Cup yacht race. The festival featured some of the leading jazz artists of the 1950s. The film is highly acclaimed. It was premiered at the 1959 Venice Film Festival and released in 1960.
