The much anticipated, high energy motorsport drama about international Formula One auto racing will be released in theaters June 25, 2025. The movie was filmed at actual Formula One Grand Prix races around the world with authentic high speed auto racing. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Brad Pitt along with a stellar international cast. In addition, 26 actual Formula One race car drivers appear in the film. The movie was produced by Amazon Studios and is distributed in theaters by Warner Bros. and streaming on Apple TV. It was made in collaboration with the International Automobile Federation, the governing body for Formula One racing.

The story is about Sonny Hayes dubbed “the greatest that never was”, played by Brad Pitt, a former rising star Formula One driver who was in a horrible crash and was forced to retire. Thirty years later, his friend race car team owner Roberto Cervantes, played by Javier Barden, asks Hayes to come out of retirement to mentor a rookie driver Joshua “Noah” Pearce played by Damson Idris.
Both Brad Pitt and Damson Idris were trained by driving formula racing cars. The movie was filmed on location at Grand Prix races in Britain, Hungary, Belgium, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi, Japan, Daytona, Netherlands, Italy, Miami, and Mexico City.

Formula One is the pinnacle of worldwide motorsports. It is the highest class of worldwide racing for open wheel single seater formula racing cars, the fastest road course racing cars in the world. Ten race teams of two cars each compete for points toward a world championship title. Racing takes place in Grand Prix three day weekend events in a series of 24 different cities around the world. Qualifying sessions take place before the final Sunday race to determine the order cars will be lined up at the start.
